Divorce & Family Law

Family matters are highly sensitive matters.  Our office offers aggressive representation and the attention you want and need during this stressful time.  We are available and we listen to all of the issues surrounding your unique situation. We want to make sure your interests are fully represented with regard to a fair debt and asset allocation, financial stability/alimony and  physical safety.  Our office has experience in both simple and complex divorce proceedings, including modifications post divorce.

If you are facing a divorce in Douglas County and you have minor children, you will be required to take a course called “What About the Children” where you will learn how to cooperate with your spouse and parenting your child during the divorce process and after it is final.  The course also teaches you about the basics of a proper Parenting Plan to ensure that holidays, vacations and general parenting time is in the best interest of your children. The parenting course is offered through the Douglas County Conciliation Court, their website can be accessed here and is full of helpful information.

If you are facing a divorce in Sarpy or other counties with minor children, you are generally required to mediate a parenting plan if you and your spouse cannot agree on the specific requirements of the parenting plan.  It is important to have a parenting plan that is easy for both parents to follow and is in the best interests of the minor children.
